Sydney Turpentine-Ironbark Forest
A once widespread forest on heavier shale soils, now critically endangered. Sitting at the transition point between the wet North Shore and the dry West. This community is a mix of the heavy-hitters. The Turpentines and Ironbarks provide amazing texture with their rough bark, while the mid-story is packed with flowering shrubs. It’s basically a massive bird-feeder, attracting everything from King Parrots to honeyeaters.
